To all the dropouts,
Thank you for finding the courage to tell everyone that you’re straying from,
An all too familiar path.

Like expeditioners you sailed into the unknown, with the wind
Rushing through your hair, and the
Water splashing your face

You already knew that stormy seas were ahead, but
You kept on sailing, not even
Wincing at the thought of encountering Poseidon

You all share the knowledge that at some point you’ll strike land,
And you will finally set lay anchor.
I’ve always wanted to tell you that:

I wish I could I had the balls to set sail,
To embark on a new adventure, knowing the full risks
Of what lay ahead.

You knew that intelligence wasn’t wrapped up in,
A thinly rolled piece of paper, you
Found that there was no secret plan or safety net once,
You grasped your hands on it.

You knew how to cheat a broken system,
By avoiding loans and mountains of debt.
You found the treasure before you set sail.

People, like me
Will always feel a need for safety,
To be secure and sound,
We envy that courage.

We all have to find that courage,
To awaken and kindle that flame deep within us.
That’s what life really is.
