Ars Poetica Poem

A poem should try to understand we

Talking about the little facets of life we see,

Short

Like fresh cut blades of grass against the dirt,

Transparent in nature

You are an artist painting a portraiture,

A poem should illuminate your secrets, desires, dreams

Like a full moon’s glimmer against the sea.

*

A poem should be free

Like birds that fly against endless blue sky,

Or a shuttle that breaks the ozone

Traveling fast into the vastness of the unknown,

There are no constraints to reason or rhyme

Such as a clock that can’t tell time,

A poem should be free

As as a leaf that drifts in the Autumn Breeze.

*

A poem captures emotion,

Like a lens that brings to light the notion,

That life is more than unforgiving

The focus is to start living,

Through pain and happiness
